ResoNix CLD Squares: Sound Deadening Material

No Fancy Packaging Costs

Fancy packaging might look nice, but it does nothing for performance and only raises cost, which we all know gets passed on to the end user. Custom printed boxes, glossy wraps, and marketing inserts all add up, and it all gets passed on to you when you purchase other companies products that feature these. We use plain, strong shipping boxes with a simple sticker label because this product ends up behind panels, not on display. Spending extra so we can impress you with a box you’re going to throw away is silly in our opinion. We’d rather give you all of the performance possible, without having to pay for extra nonsense.

Extreme Temperature Stability

Most CLD products lose performance or start to fail when exposed to extreme temperatures. ResoNix doesn’t.
Story time: One of our aerospace clients needed a material that could reduce resonance of the fuselage on a manned spacecraft, without losing adhesion, glassing over, or losing damping at extremely low temperatures. Out of over 120 products tested internally by said client, ResoNix had the best performance in both resonance reduction, as well as temperature resistance. As a matter of fact, it was the ONLY product that still adhered down to minus 80 degrees Celsius (minus 112 Fahrenheit). That’s thanks to our high-quality butyl and the absolute best binding agent that we can find that we use in it.

Industry Leading Adhesion

The binding agent we use in our butyl is unlike anything else used in the sound deadener market. Frankly, it is one of the few things that drives our cost higher than it could be, but the performance gains in both damping performance and adhesion strength and capability makes it a no brainer for us to use considering we are offering no-holds barred products. It forms an incredibly strong bond to metal, plastic, fiberglass, and more, ensuring the material stays exactly where you put it, permanently. No peeling, no sagging, no failures over time, even in extreme temperatures. While other brands can come loose, shift, or even melt and drip from heat and vibration, ResoNix stays locked in place for the life of the vehicle or whatever else it is installed on. If you want to install it once and forget about it, this is the one.

Zero Odor

Many cheaper, and even some pricey sound deadening products smell. Sometimes it is minor, other times it becomes unbearable when things heat up. That odor usually comes from asphalt, recycled rubber, or low quality butyl filled with volatile organic compounds. ResoNix uses none of that. Our material is completely odor free and safe to handle without gloves or ventilation. This is not just our opinion. We supply to OEMs with strict requirements, and we meet them. ResoNix passes Ford’s WSS M5G58 A2 specification, which includes testing for odor. You can find that documentation in our specifications section.

Easy Installation

A lot of people expect our CLD Squares to be harder to work with just because they are thicker than most others on the market. But time and time again, customers tell us the opposite. Despite the thickness, the material cuts easily, lays flat, and conforms well to panels. This is thanks to the quality and consistency of our butyl. Mega CLD Squares can take a little more effort due to the thicker aluminum, but the standard CLD Squares are surprisingly easy to install compared to anything even remotely close in thickness. Thick does not have to mean difficult.

Transparency is one of the most important things to us. We only use proper technical terms, and we never exaggerate or lie about product performance or capabilities. If something works, we show you how and why. If it has limits, we tell you. No fake specs, no vague claims, no rebranded junk. We are always straightforward with our products, and just as direct when it comes to orders, delays, and support. If something is delayed, we say so. If a mistake happens, we own it. Extended Shelf Life

TLDR: Viscoelasticity is what makes CLD work, and most products lose it over time from drying out. Ours doesn’t.
Shelf life is something most people overlook, but it matters more than most would think, and in ways that most do not realize. We still have some boxes left over of the original batch of CLD Squares from when ResoNix started in the spring of 2019, and they still feel, adhere, and perform exactly like a brand new sheet. That is not something you will see with any other sound deadening product. Others start to dry out after a year or two. When that happens, they lose not only adhesion, but damping performance too due to the butyl losing its viscoelasticity. ResoNix doesn’t have that issue. The extremely high quality binding agent that we use prevents the material from drying out, which means it keeps the same high level of performance for years, whether on a shelf or in use.

Wide Installation Temperature Range

We get asked all the time if ResoNix CLD products need to be installed in warm weather, or if they need to be heated up with a heat gun to apply properly. The short answer is no. If you are comfortable working in the temperature, the material will be too. There is no need to warm it up or wait for a perfect day. Thanks to the quality of our butyl and the binding agent we use, ResoNix can be installed in cold, hot, or anywhere in between without affecting adhesion or performance. If you can be out there working, it is ready to be installed. Simple as that.
Seriously, do not use a heat gun.

Real Test Data

We do not make vague claims or throw around numbers without backing them up. Every performance claim we make is backed by actual SAE J1637 testing, Ford WSS M5G58 A2 compliance testing, and third party data. Most other brands either avoid testing entirely or rely on made up, meaningless percentages. Our testing documents are available right on the product page for anyone to view. Nothing hidden, no smoke and mirrors. Just real data and real results.

Single Layer Performance

One layer of ResoNix CLD Squares does more than two or even three layers of other brands. That is not an exaggeration. Independent testing has proven it (See This Article). With products like Kilmat or even Dynamat, people often double up just to get halfway decent results. With ResoNix, that is completely unnecessary. Use it properly, and one layer gives you all the performance you need without wasting money or time stacking materials.

A lot of brands out there are just reselling generic product from Alibaba under their own label. They pick something off the shelf, put their logo on it, and call it their own. When we say ResoNix CLD is made in the USA, we mean fully manufactured here. Not just assembled or relabeled, but produced from start to finish under our direction. Every ingredient, including the butyl formula components and the aluminum, is made here in the United States. Manufacturing here means we are held to strict standards that most overseas factories have never even heard of, such as the previously mentioned, industry standard Ford WSS M5G58 A2. That results in cleaner materials, tighter tolerances, and consistency from batch to batch. Oh, and most of all, top-tier performance.
