Micro Precision Z-Studio Z-ST 4c four channel amplifier - Uncompromising Quality.

The Micro Precision Z Studio Amplifier, also known as the Z-ST 4c and 2c, are high-end, four-channel and two-channel amplifiers that represent the culmination of years of meticulous design and engineering. Initially conceived in 2013, the project sought to break away from conventional standards, driven by the expertise of Thomas Hoffman and his team. Following the unfortunate passing of an early collaborator, the development continued with a new team from Italy, resulting in an amplifier that prioritizes durability, serviceability, and exceptional sound quality. The Z Studio amplifier is built with a philosophy of “form follows function,” avoiding the use of SMD components to ensure ease of repair even decades into the future. Key features include a robust power supply with MUNDORF capacitors, a discrete high-voltage driver stage, and a careful selection of top-tier components like Sanken transistors and precision resistors from Mundorf and Caddock Electronics.

This amplifier is not only technically impressive but also delivers an extraordinary auditory experience. It offers an expansive soundstage, precise sound imaging, and a dynamic response across all volume levels. The Z Studio amplifier is designed to operate with minimal interference from its power supply, maintaining the integrity of the signal path. Even at low volumes, it provides a refined, delicate sound, while at higher volumes, it unleashes powerful, immersive audio without distorting the sound field. This amplifier is ideal for audiophiles who demand the highest quality in both construction and sound, offering an unparalleled listening experience that embodies the very essence of Micro Precision’s commitment to excellence.

Z-ST 4c Design Philosophy

  • “Form follows function.”

  • Not an ideological lifestyle product.

Z-ST 4c Power Supply

  • Three 30 Ampere primary fuses (90A).
  • Eight 80 Ampere switching transistors (2x240A).
  • Eight high-speed switching diodes to minimize switching noise.
  • Two high-current filter chokes to reduce disturbances from switching frequencies.
  • Four primary 22,000 uF storage capacitors from the MUNDORF range.
  • Eight secondary 4,700uF storage capacitors from the MUNDORF range.
  • Various necessary voltages generated by the power supply.

Incredible transparency, DEAD silent noise floor.

"I recently upgraded the audio system in my 2024 Ford F250, and the Micro Precision Z-Studio 4c amplifier is powering my Z-Studio midrange and tweeters, with a Brax DSP handling the processing. The system was designed and tuned by Nick at ResoNix, who worked with another shop for the install. The rest of the setup includes four Micro Precision 7-Series mono amps bridged on the Focal Utopia 8WM midbass drivers (with the 7-Series DC-DC converter) and a Focal Utopia 10WM subwoofer powered by a Mosconi Pro 1|10. The Z-Studio 4c is the quietest amplifier I've ever used. The noise floor is completely silent, even when trying to put your ear to the tweeters, and the sound quality is so transparent and natural it feels like you're sitting in the studio. It has more than enough power to get as loud as you could want, but it's just as impressive at low volumes where every detail comes through perfectly. The build quality is on another level. It feels incredibly solid, has a modern industrial vibe, and looks amazing. The digital gain control is a really nice touch that I found pretty neat. I've had several systems designed and tuned by Nick, and this is probably my favorite one yet. If you're after an amplifier that delivers flawless sound and incredible build quality, the Z-Studio 4c is easily at the top. Highly recommend it!"
