DIY Installation Support - Support That Is Beyond Standard After Sales Support
This service covers installation guidance that goes beyond standard support for the products we sell. It is for DIY customers who are mid install or post install and need direct, practical help to get unstuck. If your questions are about the hardware or software we sold you, that stays free. If your questions are broader than the product itself, or you are asking us to walk you through installation decisions, routing, or troubleshooting not tied to a defect, that belongs here.
Carson leads these sessions. Nick will step in if a case requires escalation.
Who this is for
- Anyone who needs practical install help beyond product specific questions
- DIY owners working with Helix DSP products or other similar gear, regardless of where you purchased
- Customers who want a scheduled call with clear outcomes, not open ended back and forths
What stays free, included with product purchases
- Questions directly about the hardware or software we sold you
- Basic power wire gauge for the amp you bought from us
- Basic DSP and amplifier setup to confirm the product powers up, connects, and communicates
- Basic safety checks tied to the product, for example fuse sizing for the purchased amp, confirming remote turn on behavior, confirming the DSP connects to the app
What this paid session covers
Installation planning that is not product specific
Signal flow and OEM integration choices that affect the whole system, not just the item purchased
Ground noise and alternator whine diagnosis techniques, root cause triage, and next steps
Gain structure beyond the basics, across multiple amps, sources, and processors
Source and interface decisions when there are multiple workable paths
Troubleshooting “no sound”, channel loss, phase and polarity issues that span multiple components
Practical install troubleshooting, what to test first, what to document, what to change
Hard exclusions
- Full system design, use our System Design and Consultation service for that
- Remote DSP tuning, use our Remote DSP Tuning service for that
- Fabrication design, templates, enclosure design, or coaching on bodywork
- Diagnosing third party product defects beyond standard checks, for that you need the manufacturer’s warranty process
- Teaching fundamental trade skills from scratch, for example soldering lessons or how to remove vehicle panels
- Hands on installation
How it works
-
Purchase one 30 minute block. Prepayment is required to book.
-
Pick phone or video. We will schedule a time that works.
-
Come prepared with a simple list of questions, photos, and any measurements or test results.
-
We work through the list, set next steps, and stop the clock at 30 minutes unless you authorize another block.
-
You can request a call recording. We will send a basic summary email if needed. The email follow up is brief, it is not an extended support thread.
What You Need to Have Ready Before Your Session
To make the most of your time and ensure the session stays focused, please have the following prepared and submitted before your scheduled call:

- Model numbers for all equipment involved in the system
- Notes on any tests you’ve already done or steps you’ve already tried
- Any measurement data or screenshots from test equipment, if applicable
- A clear description of your goals for the session
Scheduling and channels
- Phone or video, by appointment only
- Limited email follow up after the call, for recap or a quick clarification, not ongoing coaching
- No unscheduled inbound calls for paid support. This is a scheduled service only

Yes, you can.
Will you write me a full plan?
No. That is a consultation service. This session is focused on targeted installation support and triage.

No. If tuning is required, we will point you to the Remote DSP Tuning service.
What if I need more time?
